thank you...

probably more likely due to a sharp lens and IBIS....

I had the thought that it might be a gourds shell ... but I thought that maybe I'm wrong ... the color is interesting and the structure ...

Yep, in 2013, that's where we bought the (now faded) fridge magnet. A really wonderful place to visit, I'd love to go back just to take photographs and soak up the feel of the place.

X-T2 with Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50mm f2.8

here we go - I picked up this camera and lens at a flea market for $25, more for curiosity about the lens than anything else....

but there's damage to the front element:

slightly disappointed that it wasn't just schmutz to be wiped off... but let's see what's what....

definitely loss of sharpness and contrast due to the damage, but still not bad...

It’s got a ‘look’ .
Why people clean a lens with sandpaper is a puzzle , is it not ?

I was thinking that perhaps someone attempted to clean it with a fork...

it is now a 'soft-focus' lens....

Maybe that was the original owners plan. Either way, it does a great job as such.
