i just picked up one of the lenses offered for fuji-x fitment from the chinese company '7artisans'. This is a 25mm f1.8 manual focus lens and in the UK its available for
around £55.

First impressions are good, its nice and sharp in the centre but does have some fall-off towards the edges - being a 25mm its nice and wide (great for street work) but also it has a nice close focus capability as well. Here is a selection of shots so far..

Those look very good. How is it wide open and is it sharp across the frame when stopped down?

Shots 1 and 2 were taken wide open and the others at either f2.8 or f4

Certainly the shots I have had at f8 seem sharp across the image, I need to try some landscape at f11 or f16 to see how it copes , but for the price it's a bargain...

These were taken today at a local Metro Park using my Fuji X-E2 and an adapted Nikon 200mm F/4 AI lens. Manual focus is a dream with the Fuji X system!

Is there a thread here for people using Fuji X series cameras, especially with old lenses such as Pentax K or M42?

I ask because I might be getting one soon and thought there might be people here already using them.

Not posted on here in a while not been interested in much photography until recently. Been playing a bit with a Jupiter 11 and Industar 61 on a X-Pro 1 and have been happy with the results.

Jupiter 11

Industar 61

And a couple with the Fuji 35mm F1.4 in Truro.

Bit out of practice but hopefully it will come back to me.

Cheers, Steve

Nice ones Steve. I especially like #2 and 3. Fuji does well in B&W, too... Looking forward to more!

Autumn in Ohio

So Autumn is starting to make it's appearance known in Ohio. This was taken at the NCR Country Club in Kettering this past Sunday with the Fuji X-E2 and the adapted Asahi Super Takumar 28mm F/3.5. I forgot what my aperture was at, I think about f/8 to f/11 and my ISO was ridiculously high because I forgot to lower it but was able to manage the noise in the shadows fairly well in post processing. Shot in raw and processed in On1 Photo Raw 2017.

DA 15mm Limited on a Fuji Xt-20

I've recently gotten a Fui x-t20 and have been very impressed so far with the handling and image quality.
I have a 15mm limited for my K5-ii and am wondering if anyone has adapted a 15 mm to a fuji x mount and what were your results?

I understand that I would have to get an adaptor with an aperture ring and would lose autofocus but it seems to me with such a short distance to infinity on the 15mm that it wouldn't be very difficult to get used to - anyone with any thoughts or experience doing it?

Thanks,
brad

I haven't used my 15mm on Fujifilm, but I have used my 21mm quite a lot in that way with very good results.

Hi there, it was OK, I adapted my 15mm for a while; I personally sold my 15mm and got the Fuji 14mm, which is a very good (but more expensive) lens that beats the 15mm, excepting starbursts.

I had an adapter without aperture control. I ended up cutting the head off a zip-tie, and putting this over the top of the aperture control lever in the 15mm lens, eyeballing it to about F5.6, then putting the lens on the adapter. Worked pretty well for a fixed aperture solution. For the focus, as JonMac says, you have a distance scale, and can hyperfocal it (or use magnified focus view to accurately focus.

Here's a shot to try and get some of that famous swirly bokeh from my recently-acquired Helios 44-M, wide open. The stiff focus makes it a little slow and difficult to use on the X-M1, I suspect it'll be a bit better on a heavier camera such as the K-3 or an M42-mount film SLR.

Very nice!

The sun lured us outside briefly this evening, shortly before setting:
