Eddie, IMO, you've gotten one of the best reasons to shoot Fuji. I will also be interested to see what you make of the 50mm versus the 56mm.

its sort of like comparing 35 f2 w 31 limited in pentax both good but one has pixie dust. the 56 has that pixie dust. 50 will be my daily walkabout etc 56 will still be around for portraits and shoots where it would be the better choice. same with my 23 1.4 vs the 23 1.4 is also a stellar portrait session lens. i have one client who keeps usong me because of shots i got with that lens for her

Yeah, I hear you. I have the 23F2, and it has good colours, sharpness, etc. (and is exactly the reason I eventually left Pentax, since it seems to be too hard to design such a lens in the Pentax mount - and I say that as a former 21mm owner). However, the F2 doesn't deliver the same character as I've seen out of the 23F1.4.. But it is waterproof, and I need that!

Needing to explore the H1, I took it for a walk. Found this most recent storm casualty on the hard, framed it up. Shot it on the 55 end of the 16-55, 60th, f8, ISO100. Files are good up to their capabilities, courses for horses.

Cheers,

RM-

Wow! How does the SR of Fujifilm works compare to Pentax? How is the battery life?

Hi all,

Went back from a trip in Cambodia, had to travel light but still managed to take the X-T3, 16-55m, 10-24mm and 55-200mm + a set of ND filters and Tripod.
This was not a trip focused on photography

The only situation where my Pentax K1was really missing was Astrophotography, I tried on one occasion with the 16-55mm and the result are not that good.

But for most situation I was very happy shooting the Fuji X System once more.

Hi wed7

If it is participating to produce stills for the day, I don't opt the SR due it is on a tripod, where strobes are part of that mix, slow shutter speeds do not apply, SR "hunting" will interfere with file sharpness. If for video, the SR is on 100% of the time, where it does indeed have an appetite for electrons, less an issue with the grips additional capacity, but I've also just ordered two more batteries to help when needed. Testing it hand held for stills in low light and SR on, I've taken it down to a 15th at ISO 800 and the details held up fine. The H1 is very capable for the roll it will play for me, but not a replacement for the K1 in terms of low light stills situations and larger print needs.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

RM-

Like other Pentax users, I have been moaning for fast and WR 35mm efl. The DA 21mm (For FF we have FA31/35 and the Sigma 35) is superb but I am wanting a bit more. Pairing it with a camera body that has some Pentax DNA in terms of IBIS and WR. I also like the idea that LCD monitors should have a degree of flexibility. (fully articulating is better for selfies)

My options are either going
Fujifilm
X-H1 + XF23/2... and then add other lenses as needed i.e. Fujifilm's 56/1.2!

Sony
@6500 + Zony 24/1.8... and then add other lenses as needed i.e. Sigma 16/1.4 and 56/1.4 or the Sony 85/1.8

With the two system above, I think I can have my fast 35mm efl, WR and IBIS while achieving a faster AF than any Pentax(?) and with some degree of LCD flexibility.

My main purpose is to have a family camera that I can brought along travels and some life events specially during holidays. But going FF is tempting too now that I have manage to purged most of my lenses.

Glad to herar that the X-H1 is doing good for you.

Received my 90mm f2 yesterday and got to do a quick shoot with Cassidy around golden hour. Very impressed with the results of this lens on the X-T3. Snappy AF that I found to be faster and more accurate than the 56mm. Also prefer the compression and tends to be sharper with more keepers. Will probably be choosing this lens more often than the 56mm from now on.
