Hi, X-series users, I bought an X-T3 recently, and I have a question about the function of an adapter on X-T3. I have tried suing kit lens with manual focus, and the touch screen does work to lock on the subject. I have a Pentax D FA 50mm F1.4 lens. This lens is really fantastic, so I don't want to sell it out. Thus, if I want to use the maximum aperture to take photos, Could I only buy a cheap adapter? What else should I concern about? I knew the weight would not be balanced and only manual focus. Oh, does the function of focusing on the touch screen work? thanks for the help.

you need to enable shoot without a lens, use an adaptor (any K mount one works - you will be tied to f1.4 though as there is no aperture ring on dfa50 , set leve to manual focus and you will have focus peaking option to help lock focus (not sure which options XT3 offers as it is newer than any of my fujis - you set it in menu usually right in same spot as enabling shoot without lens .. you need to tell it focal length too..I believe 50 is one of the 5 preset options

I think with a basic K to X adapter he'll be tied to the smallest aperture, not the largest, for a lens with no aperture ring. Assuming the DFA 50mm doesn't have the electro-magnetic aperture stop-down, you'll need a slightly different adapter - one that has a ring to allow some control over the aperture. This one for example:

Pentax K mount DA AF lens To Fujifilm X-Pro1 Adapter camera Fuji X-T1 E2 Pro2 E1 | eBay

It will allow 6 or 7 different aperture settings plus wide open, which is sufficient control I think.

12 image handheld pano taken with the XT3 and the 18-55 kit lens. The hills were glowing with green when taking the images, so I desaturated the image a tad.
