That's part of it.

The DA 35mm has a better, more solid feel to it than the Fujinon 35/1.4, thought the Fujinon is pleasant to use largely due to it's aperture ring, and both have great rendering and can impart a feeling of really being htere to see the scene. The Fujinon is two stops faster while the Limited has the macro capability - if it were possible to combine these two properties in one lens then that would be THE perfect lens. Both have a lot going for them and what one does poorly the other does superbly, so they complement each other well, though these days (with a 13-month-old baby) I find the fast aperture of the Fujinon more useful than the macro capability of the Limited.

I do like the limited more, but it's only a tiny, tiny bit more.

Here's the latest one from the 35/1.4, sign above a bar door.

Just for fun I opened a Pentax-110 18/2.8 film lens and added a home-made fixed aperture disk ... maybe about f/8 if I were to guess. I am trying to create a lens like the "Pan-Focal" 18mm lens in which all is in focus from about 6 feet to infinity. This first experiment effort is pretty close to that depth of field.

Not quite sure if I like the results so far and I have another idea to add a smaller fixed aperture behind the rear element, just like where the aperture is situated on a Pentax-110 film body.

Shot with the X-E2 in Poitiers.

Still working on some images for the regional club expo this Spring ... "seen from the ground" or "scene of the ground is the cheeky theme. Here, some work with the new-to-me Fuji XF 35/1.4 on the X-E2 ... the first shot is for the bokeh and the second is for a better reference of the scene. Skateboaders on the main city plaza doing jumps off of steps. (x-post from the Bokeh thread)

Testing a used Fuji X100s that I just acquired ... another "seen from the ground" theme shot for the upcoming regional clubs' photo expo this late Spring ... I was laying on the ground for this one.
