U$ 50 pm....if I could get that deal I would jump on it....Its a mini XT2, no WR,no dual card slots,no joystick.And no grip to give 30 mins 4K VIDEO.....Has a limited touch screen but that's ok.
BUT, the XE3 is looming too....might be pretty good???....Which could be the reason for this deal???

Both are covered with 1 year parts and service warranty, but I tell you, t the Fuji customer service is superb in my area.

The Fuji comes with an extra 3rd party battery too whereas the KP is a measly camera bag.

12/2, 23/2 and 56/1.4 is love in Fuji.

That's a great combo and price.

The 23mm F2 is a great reportage lens, WR and Fast focusing. It does not have image stabilisation. IMO, it is sharper than the DA21mm, and has similar contrast and colour.
Frankly it is the lens I was waiting Pentax to make for more than 5 years.

It's one weakness is close focus (1-2M) at apertures larger than ~2.8 where there are spherical aberrations. The lens is still pulling detail, but looks a bit blurry.
The lens is also a bit long physically, and does overbalance on the X-T20 somewhat.

The X-T20 is a great camera, quite well built (pity no WR), light, great output, the battery life is also quite good. As pointed out, the touch-screen has limited functionality compared to the better models in the class (e.g., Panasonic GX85, Olympus E-M10 II, Panasonic G85). The grip is small, but i've not had an issue. The weight is key for me: half the weight of a KP.
I use it as my main camera, and have a Panasonic GM1 and GM5 for portable, fast focus family duties. Personally, I am also considering a Panasonic ZS100 for this, longer term (I have two sets of lenses, presently). The video is good, also (although the stabilisation with say a 16-50mm is not as good as some other systems at this price point).

A quick shout out on the size and cost of the lenses though. Micro 4/3 and 1 inch models are much smaller, cheaper, and are equivalently sharp. For family friendly stuff, they are all good. Fuji stuff is great, but expensive, and the newer lenses are large. That being said, I am looking to purchase the 50mm F2 or the upcoming macro, and call it a day.

I have been dropping on this thread every now and then, I really cannot help but ask for your opinions, Fujifilm here is offering their X-T20 + XF23/2 WR for about $1200 payable in 24 months with 0% interest at the same time the Pentax KP has just landed and now being offered at an introductory price of $1300 payable in 24 months with 0% interest. I have been shooting with Pentax for around 7 years and have bought and sold some of the Pentax's finest lenses, but I retained their DA limited primes due to its' compactness, I have been in love with my DA 21/3.2 for the longest time with occasional use of the other limiteds (15/35/70) as the case maybe. My K-30 is still working (around 35,000 clicks). I really do not want to spend more since I think I have enough glasses but just do not have enough time to shoot (#DaddyDuties) but sometimes I think I need a smaller camera that I can always take with (old habit, ABC=always bring your camera) but often times the bulk of a DSLR gets in the way. I bought a decent mobile phone (Huawei P10) hoping to get rid of this gear acquisition syndrome (G.A.S) but I am still yearning for something better especially during family events. Oh the Fuji X-100T can also be had for $800 new.
Wife and kids = money/responsibility. I would not finance even at 0% a camera under those circumstances. With that being said, I did move away from Pentax and sold ALL my gear to acquire Fuji. Why? Because it is so much smaller and easier to carry, and frankly you don't have to work as hard to get a great picture. I owned almost all the great Pentax glass. From the FA 31 to the F*300 along with many of the DA* lenses. I also had the DA 21. The tipping point for me is when I purchased a Used Fuji X-T1 with a 27mm pancake lens and compared it to my K-3 and FA 31. There simply was no comparison as far as IQ, flesh tone, sharpness and rendering. I was sold. But I purchased my Fuji-XT1 used for $550 and also bought a used Fuji 27mm for $275. I've since added a 90mm F2.0, 35mm 1.4, 14mm 2.8 and a 50-230 zoom but that was over a few months time.

Your current Pentax gear is still good stuff. It's just a bit more bulky

Well, there is THAT

I didn't comment before, but the X-T20 and 16-50mm kit lens was 1199 + 13% tax here in Ontario, Canada when I purchased (now 1299). The Pentax KP was $1450 body only. A bit of a no-brainer purchase locally.

It sounds like you're quite invested in Pentax and you like the gear you have, except for the size/weight. In my view, the smaller Fuji cameras with a fast prime are ideal for having as a second body for when you want a good camera with you but need something smaller than an SLR. I use an X-M1 and Fuji 35/1.4. The T20 is supposed to be an excellent camera (I envy the Acros B&W mode on it) and while I haven't used and Fuji lenses other than the 35/1.4, I haven't heard anything but praise about any of the Fuji lenses (except for price).

The KP may be a step up from the K30 but it won't solve the problem that you have with size.

If you want to spend the money, the Fuji package sounds like what you're looking for, and you will still have the K30 and Pentax lenses to use when you're not limited by size. You should also note that with an adapter that allows the use of lenses without aperture rings, the Fuji cameras pair extremely well with the DA limiteds, though of course you lose AF. I used the DA 40mm and DA 21mm almost exclusively for digital shooting with my X-M1 last year and it was a very enjoyable experience that produced great quality photos. The point is that Fuji cameras are still very compatible with Pentax lenses, so you'll be able to use your existing glass with a Fuji camera and have two systems to suit the situation.

Xe3 rumours

At this stage the announcement is "rumoured" to be sept/oct/nov?

Other "rumours"....4K video/joystick/moveable lcd/ touchscreen and slightly smaller form factor than the previous 3 XE models.

Of course the latest Xtrans processor, 24mp sensor.

To me its sounding like an XT20 in XE form?

If they make it WR, I will be a happy man.

So, I did pick up the original 50-230mm: Pretty sharp - contrast is a little low, but OK. All in all a good buy:

Tonight I was surfing reviews, and came across some good jpg settings in Classic Chrom. I really like the colours:

I have the 2nd version.Over on the Fuji discussion forum, ive read that @100-230 its pretty close to the 100-400mm{which just happens to cost 10x the price).

Also use the XC16/50 and its quite nice.
