Originally posted by wed7 I have been dropping on this thread every now and then, I really cannot help but ask for your opinions, Fujifilm here is offering their X-T20 + XF23/2 WR for about $1200 payable in 24 months with 0% interest at the same time the Pentax KP has just landed and now being offered at an introductory price of $1300 payable in 24 months with 0% interest. I have been shooting with Pentax for around 7 years and have bought and sold some of the Pentax's finest lenses, but I retained their DA limited primes due to its' compactness, I have been in love with my DA 21/3.2 for the longest time with occasional use of the other limiteds (15/35/70) as the case maybe. My K-30 is still working (around 35,000 clicks). I really do not want to spend more since I think I have enough glasses but just do not have enough time to shoot (#DaddyDuties) but sometimes I think I need a smaller camera that I can always take with (old habit, ABC=always bring your camera) but often times the bulk of a DSLR gets in the way. I bought a decent mobile phone (Huawei P10) hoping to get rid of this gear acquisition syndrome (G.A.S) but I am still yearning for something better especially during family events. Oh the Fuji X-100T can also be had for $800 new.
Wife and kids = money/responsibility. I would not finance even at 0% a camera under those circumstances. With that being said, I did move away from Pentax and sold ALL my gear to acquire Fuji. Why? Because it is so much smaller and easier to carry, and frankly you don't have to work as hard to get a great picture. I owned almost all the great Pentax glass. From the FA 31 to the F*300 along with many of the DA* lenses. I also had the DA 21. The tipping point for me is when I purchased a Used Fuji X-T1 with a 27mm pancake lens and compared it to my K-3 and FA 31. There simply was no comparison as far as IQ, flesh tone, sharpness and rendering. I was sold. But I purchased my Fuji-XT1 used for $550 and also bought a used Fuji 27mm for $275. I've since added a 90mm F2.0, 35mm 1.4, 14mm 2.8 and a 50-230 zoom but that was over a few months time.
Your current Pentax gear is still good stuff. It's just a bit more bulky
