Fuji news

They have just announced a desire to be number 1 over the medium term in the ML premium camera market.Combining their X series and GFX series.

The viewfinder in the XE3 is the same one as used in XT20(just a rumour, confirmation Sept7th.)

Big News is...TechArt Pro are releasing an AF adapter for EF to GFX mount, so Canon glass becomes useable.

Does anyone here use the 27mm f/2.8?

I keep being tempted by it as it would virtually turn my X-M1 into a compact (size-wise) but it's not very far off the only other Fuji lens I have, the 35mm f/1.4. I also have plenty of old 28mm lenses I can adapt (without AF, of course, and much bigger) that would be an almost identical focal length and speed.

I'd go for the 23mm f/2 but of course it's much more expensive and newer, so hard to find used.

Yes, I have it, and use it, but personally see in 35mm FOV vision, so always found it a bit tight. I now have the 23mm F2 and use that more.
The 27mm is light and small - some issues with curvature and slower AF, but a very sharp centre. Also, if you like 28mm, the 18mm is a much better lens than everyone makes out.

I sold my 27mm for the 35 1.4 , a much better lens IMHO. Get the 27mm if you want to go stealth mode for street shooting. It's such a compact and sharp lens you can easily fit both it and the camera in a large pocket ( I had the XT-1). Other than that I found it a bit too clinical, but sharp, and preferred the pixie dust of the 35mm 1.4.

Some test shots with a Minolta 45mm f/2 lens wide open. I'd have tested it stopped down a bit too but my X-M1 battery died.

50-230mm. I'm back to shooting "portrait" orientation, which I think is a good sign:

Beautifully sharp pictures from Fuji's "cheap kit lens". I've got one myself and just can't believe how sharp and contrasty this hidden gem is.

Both the XC lenses produce great images in good light...add the next cheapest,27mm f2.8 and you got the start of a great system.i'm looking forward to end of month to see how they go on the new XE-3.
