Yep. For now if I want Acros I'll have to use my stash of the real stuff, though now that it's discontinued, and already very expensive, that won't last long.

It was really hard for me to let go of Pentax. They were like my Pets. I am still holding on to my primes, but if there is no use for them, I am thinking of seriously letting all of them go to buy more Fuji/Sony lenses. Fuji 16mm 1.4 is amazing in many levels.
BTW, I do have the 16-55 and it's a beautiful lens. I compared it side by side to my Pentax 16-50 and it blew it out of the water. Pentax images weren't as crisp as Fuji ones, also the starburst and flaring were so much nicer on the Fuji side.
Don't under-estimate how good the Pentax primes are when adapted to Fuji bodies. I used the 21mm and 40mm limited lenses on a trip to Paris a couple of years back (before I owned any Fuji lenses) and I really loved the results. The limited rendering together with Fuji colours make magic together.

Good point. I gotta try it out. Thanks for the hint. What adapter do you use?

For DA lenses (or any other lens without an aperture ring) you'll need an adapter that allow you to stop down the aperture, otherwise it will always shoot at the smallest setting. The one in the link below is the appropriate type and looks very similar to my K&F concept one.

Here are a couple taken with the 18mm f/2 in Segovia at the weekend when I came across this hideous painted pyramid in the square in the middle of these flats.

Some Acros from Fuji X Studio (basically an in-camera conversion, with the benefit of a large screen to check what it looks like). Quite good, actually.

X-M1 with Minolta Rokkor 35mm f/2.8 wide open. I think at f/2.8 this lens is as sharp as the DA 35mm limited.

Indeed. I like the colour rendition, too. Time to break out my wife's MD's.

I have only limited experience with Minolta lenses but a couple of the ones I have are superb - this 35mm and the 50mm f/1.7. I was less impressed with the famous 35-70mm f/3.5 and much less impressed with the 24mm f/2.8 and sold them both off.

Does anyone here have any experience with the 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS (first version)? There's one for sale locally and it would give me the flexibility of a zoom, albeit a slow one. My Pentax kit lens only gets used for adverse conditions (WR) but the Fujinon doesn't have that advantage, though from all reports it's optically very good indeed. I'd go for the faster 18-55mm but it costs three times as much on the used market.

I sold my 18-55mm to go with the 2nd version 16-50 (which has the same optical formula, but can focus closer, and is a bit faster). It's fine - a few of the images here (the armchair one, for example) was taken with it. The build quality is good enough, but it does have a plastic mount, and the mounting tabs can break off (more of a problem with the 50-230mm). I bought mine primarily for video, but it is a light solution. It's not quite as good as the 18-55, but good enough, especially @ wide.

This ancient millstone rests on the bank of a small creek in Surry County.

One of the things I like best about my Fuji is the Velvia film emulation. I hand-held the shot in very low light and applied little post processing - just a minor level adjustment and light cropping. Fujifilm X-T20, XC16-50 f/3.5-5.6 at 50mm, f/5.7, 1/14s, ISO 800.

Has anyone here looked into the various options for AF adapters to use EF mount lenses on Fuji?

Now that several of them have been released, I think it's time to start looking into which one is best. In my case that means decent build quality, accurate AF (of course) and the ability to mount all of my three EF lenses. The 50/1.8 STM I'm sure is a given as it's so popular. The Tammy 28-75/2.8 I imagine can probably be handled as it's fairly common, but the Sigma super-wide 24/2.8 is what most worries me as it's quite old and not so common. I haven't seen any of these adaptors listing the Sigma as tested and would want to be sure that it would work, or at the very least to buy an adaptor whose manufacturer seemed committed to firmware updates to expand the number of lenses which work.

* * *

I'm starting to warm to keeping a wide angle lens on the camera for general carrying about in case I see a shot.
