XF 23 2, f2, Fuji X-T20

Mastering colours with Fuji X-T20 RAWs

Couldn't get colours I wanted from Fuji X-T20 for 3 years, now the problem is solved. Using Leaf Color IQ 100MP ICC profile in C1 instead of X-T20's miraculously helps. Note huge difference in reds (perhaps, Leaf profile needs something like -3 to red chanel's Hue to make it a bit less orange). Also yellows with Leaf are not that pronounced (Saturation +10 helps here).

Imput file: DNG after X-Transformer.
  • 1st shot: no edit, Film standard curve applied.
  • 2nd shot: another ICC profile used, Film standard curve applied.

Yet another note: opened the same shot (RAF file) in C1 20 Fujifilm Express, ICC profiles for X-T20 and Leaf look the same as here. Using Fuji film simulations instead of built-in curves helps with colours (though not with natural look).

Original solar panels....

Humidity on the lens ... a low contrast filter .... I bet they don’t sell low contrast filters...maybe though.

This plant , usually just the one , comes up in a different spot every year.
Could be hundreds of feet apart ...

... never know where , til it surprises me .

I see virtually no difference between the two shots.

I got one of these with a Minolta film camera (the SRT100X, I think) and looked forward to trying it out on my Fujifilm as it has a very good reputation. Alas, it's plenty sharp dead-centre but soft at the edges, even on APS-C, and needs to be stopped down quite a bit to get sharp corners. The Minolta 50/1.7 I have is far superior.
