Was out trying assorted m42 lenses on he gfx.. some like the Lentar 21 had bad vignette but as it is so wide it is great for the 65:24 crop option

The Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 just arrived so I'll have the weekend to try it out, which is nice as I didn't expect it until Monday. My very quick first impressions:

1. The build is nice and solid, along the lines of the Fujinon 23/2 and feels better than the older 35/1.4 and 18/2
2. It's very sharp wide open, at least in the centre
3. The clickless aperture ring is less annoying than I thought it would be (but I've barely taken it off f/1.4 yet)
4. The minimum focus distance (60cm) is a bit on the long side
5. AF seems accurate and reasonably fast

A couple of initial test shots, wide open of course

Looks like an excellent lens . Especially if it is fun to use too.

the humps are spirit levels - I use them on every camera body....

and the L-bracket on the X-H1 is a SmallRig bracket - tricky to find...

not a great shot of it, but here it is:

January 27th announcements.

Well, the leaks have started.(fuji rumours reports)

The Mk2 version of the 27mm will have an aperture ring and have WR.First version lacked both.

Got my m42 to Fuji g adaptor this am tried it quickly with the 55 1.8 and the 105 2.8.
Looks like it will be fine with both those (wide open to 5.6 anyway.. haven’t done any serious shots or assessment
A quick shot to test the Smc105 f2.8 shot wide open
Is that in FF crop mode?

Nope full 4:3 , the wider lenses all vignette to varying degrees but so far the 105 seems good. The 135 also
I have a Jupiter 9 with no aperture mechanism that is ok as well.

If you fell in the Don in the 70s they probably didn’t need cement shoes to kill you it was basically dead. 40 years of rehab fish and wildlife have returned

Yes of course Don River and Don Corleone ...
I read a book, or rather tried to read it, but I never finished reading it .. I watched the film, but it didn’t stick in my head, something about a mafia family, but I was not carried away...

Yes that is at least one good thing , many rivers have been cleaned up.
