Originally posted by Jonathan Mac The Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 just arrived so I'll have the weekend to try it out, which is nice as I didn't expect it until Monday. My very quick first impressions:
1. The build is nice and solid, along the lines of the Fujinon 23/2 and feels better than the older 35/1.4 and 18/2
2. It's very sharp wide open, at least in the centre
3. The clickless aperture ring is less annoying than I thought it would be (but I've barely taken it off f/1.4 yet)
4. The minimum focus distance (60cm) is a bit on the long side
5. AF seems accurate and reasonably fast
A couple of initial test shots, wide open of course

Looks like an excellent lens . Especially if it is fun to use too.
