Henri was my friend Paul’s “uncle” (family friend) he has a few prints uncle Henri left him. He did use more than one lens (and camera for that matter ) but primarily he used Leica m3 with a 50, but did use a few other lenses occasionally. Winogrand shot mostly 28 and 35mm. For the work they did this lenses worked .. hcb was a painter and looked at the 50 as a natural painting style fov . He went back to painting at the end of his life . It is easy to get caught up in gear. We all do it to some degree
you wonder if he would have done as we do.... try as many as we can afford ..... some of course more than others

maybe it's like an addiction, or endorphins, as it does something in my brain when i see a great image, photo, technique, insight, essay with pics...
makes a little happy feeling in there.

but the camera and lens part, is that just human nature, to keep wanting the next best thing. or , what is it ?

why post pictures even ? maybe it's another abberation

That looks like a wicked combo from the photos you've showcased with it.
Apparently Viltrox are cobbling together a 24mm f/1.8 for Sony which I'm quite curious about...
It does seem to be working very well. That extra stop over the Fujinon f/2 means that I can isolate a subject at 23mm that I previously couldn't, I'd have needed to go to the 35mm f/1.4. I still prefer the 35mm FOV overall and Fuji's 35/1.4 is a magical lens, but the extra speed means that 23mm isn't such a compromise if I go out with only one lens.

The only real negative of the lens is the very noticeable vignette wide open. I like a bit of vignette in many photos (and sometimes add an artificial one) but I've never had a lens before where it was so strong it bothered me. This one does a little.

I hadn't heard of that 24mm. I'm in a Viltrox group in FB and they keep mentioning a 13mm f/1.4 that's due out. While I'm dubious of any real advantage to f/1.4 at that focal length for what I do, the widest native X lens I have is 18mm so something wider would be handy sometimes, though the existing 16mm f/2.8 would be better for general use and is a reasonable price.

Speaking of that FB group, a few days ago I posted something there a few days ago:

There seem to be a lot of people complaining in this group that their Fuji cameras don't work when a Viltrox lens is mounted. Are the lenses prone to fault or is it that the group attracts people looking to solve their problems? Or perhaps people are installing the wrong firmware? It's got me a little worried.

I think this is mostly due to people updating their firmware incorrectly. It's a process that isn't properly documented anywhere by Viltrox themselves and the page to download the appropriate file is just a list, with everything together - lenses, different mounts, different versions of lenses. It would be very easy to download the firmware for your lens in another mount, or a different lens entirely.

yes and no - the IBIS really does make a difference in shooting...

plus the difference in size changes the handling between the cameras, also...

I purchased the Fuji X-H1 over the X-T3 because it has IBIS and it feels better in my hands. I also looked at the X-T4 and would still choose the X-H1 over either one. I can't wait for the X-H2 to come out.

Is it same sensor as x-t3 , or it’s own variety .?

Do you use it with autofocus ?
I think pepperberry is all manual.

X-H1 uses the same sensor as the X-T2, but probably with some tweaks to make the X-H1 differentiated...

physically, the X-H1 is a smidge larger in all dimensions than a K-5, but weighs less....

I've never used the AF on either Fuji camera I own...

It's similar to the K-5 size but not as bulky or brick like as the K-5. It's thinner. Better handling and easier to use in my opinion since I owned both.
