A7K (Kolari thin filter modification) -how it stacks up

For those wondering how this conversion affects legacy SLR and RF lenses, I started a review on the local forums on this topic.

A Review of the A7K (Kolari Thin Filter Conversion)

Up till this point, I am pleasantly surprised on how much more it improves SLR lenses on the off center than RF ones.

Perhaps relevant: LensRentals.com - Sensor Stack Thickness: When Does It Matter?
Some film-era lenses seem to do a lot better with thin, but it seems to depend a lot upon the specific lens formula. Some legacy lenses seem fine with the thicker ones.

Indeed.
I got quite a few SLR and RF wides to run through and will update the post when I get to them.

Yes, I'd think this is the case.
Its a lens+camera interaction.
Nothing is for sure with the mod.
The modification just tries to get to what is possible on camera 'right'.
Thats only half the equation.

I updated the review with samples of the CV25/4 color skopar and the Pentax K28/3.5.

Strange journey for me indeed.
I am nothing but awestruck by what the SLR lenses can get on the modded camera, esp with already very good lenses like the K28/3.5
The o/p (in terms of sharpness) reminds me so much of my DP1m.
Practically, other than color representation in good light, I get the feeling that this camera all but makes the DP1m irrelevant for my usage (sadly).

I should be able to get hold of a A7 (unmodded) towards the end of the week to compare more lenses again.

Cheers!
