So did anyone put their $$ where their keyboard was on this whole NX is the best and Pentax is a loser ... topic?
I remember asking this before...
I didn't, in parts because I feared this was going to happen. Had they stuck to it I would have switched. Unless Pentax starts to be competitive again. Or even just show that they are trying, and that they listen to customers.

Yes, it means the Indians will have to make do with whatever other cameras are made there!

Samsung isn't going anywhere you guys. They are simply scaling things back. I have emailed them about this and have denied it, even implied that new firmware will be released soon. The NX1 is more innovative than perhaps any camera that has been released within the last decade. Maybe thats why there are so many people jumping on the band wagon. Pentax could take a hint from Samsung.
Okay, I don't want any horse race tips from you, either. ☺

Because it is forbidden to import Camera's to India? Or are you talking about those guys who run the casino's?

WRONG, it means the indian manufacturing has ceased....

HOWEVER, this may coincide with the official statement that Sammy were ceasing "compact cameras"

Well, the denials in this thread that anything was wrong have a precedent:

Samsung just never knew what they were getting into. Sony didn't either when it bought Minolta and there was a point when I though Sony would also abandon the ILC market. Sony just kept throwing as much $h!t against the wall as they could and they finally found something that stuck.

good grief is this still going on? LMAO

people have been claiming that samsung is getting out of the camera business for what, six months now?

so why is the nx1 $1199 at b&h, same price that it was months ago.

omg, hold the presses, the sky is falling, it's on sale for $1049 at amazon!!! still absurdly overpriced for a mirrorless crop camera, a6300 is $998, k3ii is $727

k3ii is too cheap, pentax is doomed!!

EDIT: sorry i just overreacted i was having too much fun

seriously, a6300 is another shot across the bow of all the camera companies, how will any company compete with where that tech is going.

All academic now. As far as I can tell, no one sells either in Australia anymore.

The NX enigma remains....

Its not unusual for a huge corporation to discontinue unprofitable lines, that's just business

It is usual for the emotional attachment that some people display, that's just human

For such fine pieces of technology to be rubbish binned( the assumption from the rumours) its a bit disappointing

Sammys interest in photography still exist in the phone lines which, from what I read just now is HIGHLY profitable

Go WHERE the $$$$ are!
