Both cameras are aging at this point.
That doesn't mean it is useless, just that this is a camera with some years on it and appears to be pushed out in bundle form to get rid of a lot of large stock stuff. I actually wanted one a couple of years ago just to throw magic latern on it and play with video production.
For a 10 year old it is beyond great. The plus is it is small.. great for 10 year old girl hands. And it is a Canon so she won't be wanting to use your lenses... in case you were like that with this child.
