Nikon DL Compacts

DL or No DL? What you need to know about the Nikon DL compacts: Digital Photography Review

The Superzoom and the 24-85mm are pretty boring to me (been done already).
But the 18-50mm FF equivalent is very interesting. 18mm is wiiiide

I think the DL24-85 looks very good, and $649 is a good price. And 1:1 macro!!!

I may have to be an early adopter.

As a landscape and street shooter who's spend the last couple of years shooting with the 28mm GR, that 18-50mm is veeeeeeeeeeeery interesting. We'll see how the lens performs first though...

After the APS-C GR, it would also be a question as to whether the BSI makes up for the smaller 1-inch sensor.
That BSI technology certainly helps the Q series punch above its weight.

That piqued my interest too, but from the wording, I think it's 1:1 *equivalent* macro, meaning that you get a 36mm wide frame, as if you were shooting with a 1:1 macro on a full frame camera. That's not quite 1:1 on a 1 inch sensor. I think that sensor is 13.2mm wide, which means you're really getting about 1:2.7. Still, not bad. I'd be more interested if that feature was on the wide model though...

I did a search on Flickr for RX100 landscape shots and there are some great results out there...I certainly wouldn't want to shoot it at much higher than base ISO though. But it does have VR and you can get away with a small tripod and still have a very compact setup.

Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific and not caused too much excitement!

Anyway, I really liked my Panny LX7 and miss it, and the DL24-85 is strongly reminiscent of it.
