Yes, viewing at 200% is a good way for a pixel peeper to enjoy a photo.
You asked for it. I examine all of my photos at 100% before submitting it to my publisher. Great photography is a mix of art and craft.

Don't get me wrong, you took a nice shot. But nice shots are a dime a dozen these days. If you really think that you're that good, go straight to medium format and realize youre creative vision. Don't waste it on a small sensor compact like the LX100.

I admit, I've gone a bit overboard with silliness. I was just trying to divert myself from pain. I know the LX100 is severely limited, like all compact cameras. However, I still like it. I would buy a Q if Pentax built an 800mm prime with AF for it. Take advantage of that tiny sensor.

To make up for my silliness, here is a video I filmed in Japan. It's a bit slow, but the music should help you get through it. Watch in 1080p.

Hah the Q has some of the best lenses around. I'm sorry but is mklives 12 years old or something? Because it really seems like were speaking with a child

OK. Enough of the hyperbole. You like the LX100. If I had one, I'd probably like it, too. I like my Q, my K-3, my X30 (which I judged to be better value for a walk around P&S), my Minox, Leica IIIc etc, etc. I'm not suggesting anyone else should like them better than the cameras they're using now. As one of the video reviewers said, just "get out and take some damn photos". All the rest is just comparing d*ck lengths.

As regards your statement "Well, that's a given, due to the better sensor and higher quality lens" is the major area that is not right. As mentioned above if it is all about better sensor and higher quality lens we would all have 645Z, or whatever.

What makes a good camera is partially that and many other things. If the camera works well for one, and is available, it will likely give great results. It depends on what the individual sees as important, for a given scenario. That's why comparing spec's is never enough.

I think your photo's are very good, and likely to many mine would not be--but for my style the Q works very well, and I usually leave my K-5 home (but not in my theater photography!).

I had the Pentax Q and standard prime for a few months. I loved the cuteness factor, the appearance, and the controls. But the image quality just wasn't there. Resolution, colour, detail, and low-light ability were all horrendous. In my opinion, now that some micro 4/3 cameras are around the same size as the Q and have a plethora of affordable AF lenses to choose from, the Pentax Q only has credibility as an astronomical tool with telescopes, etc.
I sold the Pentax Q and bought the Panasonic LX100. It's not much bigger than the Q, and neither are pocketable. I was able to get the following photo with the LX100. I can guarantee you I wouldn't have been able to get a photo anywhere close to this quality with the Q. I don't think Pentax will continue with the Q system.

After the RX100 release Pentax Q was completely odd choice.

67 posts before Sony was invoked. Monochrome was right, it seems.

Two completely different cameras offering different benefits (and compromises)... much like the OP's LX100 vs Q... apples and oranges.

Nice image, though when I pixel peep, its also smudgey like all small sensors.

Q is what it is. (small sensor, MILC )
There is no perfect camera, just use it to its strength....

This one from a good friend of mine...
Fluidr / Bernard Yeo's "Pentax-08 Wide Zoom" set

My own use.

Thanks. Shot on LX100. The original 4k clips are much sharper but I downscaled them to 1080p using a free program that doesn't do a great job. Then edited simply using Apple's iMovie. First movie I've made.

Impressive as a first movie. I probably can never make a decent movie even if my life depends on one!
