Wow. Thanks Adam. The thread had definite relevance to the Pentax Medium Format since it is competition at the same price point and you move it within a thread that is irrelevant since it talks about FF not medium Format.

Sigh.
???

This thread is classified, and has always been, in the "Non-Pentax Cameras: Canon, Nikon, etc." section.

+1... that's how I see it, too. I don't know which one of the moderators merged the threads, but I'd have done the same thing.

No that's the forum section. The thread title is: Hasselblad to announce a FF mirrorless camera

It's not a FF mirrorless camera, but a medium format mirrorless that is a direct competitor to the 645Z with some aspects that Pentax could learn from or react to in relation to its own Medium Format cameras. I'm not the only one who shares this view.

The title to this thread is fallacious by definition. Is 44x 33 what we call FF? No. Therefore the title is irrelevant to the discussion. The thread I started had every bit of relevance to the 645Z especially as there is much discussion on how slow Pentax is being at releasing new lenses for the 645 system, and how this might sink the Z system or perhaps might jolt Pentax into action. Ergo, it is relevant to the Pentax Medium Format section since there is more than one thread discussing Pentax's lethargy in that section.

I've merged the two threads that talk about the same upcoming camera, a non-Pentax camera. Sorry if that's caused confusion.

I just got Calumet's e-mail through allowing pre-ordering. UK release price is £5,990... BUT, that is *plus VAT* at 20%, so the actual UK cost (unless you're a VAT registered business who can offset that bit) is £7,188... £189 more than the 645Z with 55mm lens kit...

The size should be compared to Sony A7RII with something around 31mm f/2,5 for the wide angle lens and 63mm f/2,2 for the tele lens.

the most important reasons to go mirrorless are true wysiwyg in an evf, pdaf on the sensor, silent shutter, efcs in all shooting modes, etc.

smaller/lighter is just icing on the cake.

afaik, hassleblad doesn't have any history with engineering a real mirrorless camera, it'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Oh that sync speed! That would be nice. Being compatible with Nikon speedlights is a smart idea too.
On paper it sure looks good.

Very nice indeed and I am sure that existing Hasselblad owners will be delighted to hear that the H range of lenses with an adapter are usable currently this means that a 14 lens selection available?

It will be interesting to see how good Hassy implementation of EVF

And just as interesting to see if/when Pentax will respond and with what. While liking this offering there is nothing here that makes me think I must make another change - well not just yet :-)
