The size is quite close to the Sony A7RII. Comparison

I like it! It has style and good specs. I just miss the typical Pentax features.

That is really compact.

It lacks a lot of the goodies that 645Z offers. However, it offer the key flash synch at all speeds advantage. That would be a major plus for photographers who do a lot of strobe photography. We do not know the lens mount story but if it is similar to what other mirror less cameras are doing, it might open up the camera to using just about anyone's lens in manual mode. Now that I would call game changing.

it's limited to 1/2000th max shutter speed with the native glass, which is not good... wonder if that also applies to adapted glass.

the sync speed is interesting, but there are now hss strobe solutions for sony mirrorless, that should provide wysiwyg in the evf, and sync all the way up to 1/8000th.

Handmade in Sweden. More like hand assembled.

It is dwarfish next to 645Z

With 45mm and 90mm lenses and pre-announced 30mm for Photokina you only need 135mm or 150mm and you have a great portrait set.

It will be interesting to see how good Hassy implementation of EVF

And just as interesting to see if/when Pentax will respond and with what. While liking this offering there is nothing here that makes me think I must make another change - well not just yet :-)
Its nice to see this model so successfully done by a relatively small company. One interesting feature is the 60min max length shutter, i suppose with wysiwyg EVF. Large FF 35mm DSLRs will be around indefinitely, but they don't deserve the current sales rate of 2:1 versus mirrorless. And as you pointed out, its compatible with existing H range of 14 lenses.

This just puts more pressure on Canon and Nikon to come out with an alternative mirrorless model to their iterative DSLR models. Let their customers decide which design type camera they prefer rather than dictate the DSLR mode.

60 minutes to 1/2000 with XCD lenses. It didn't say about adapted lenses. Clearly not sports camera but a max 1/2000 shutter won't matter to almost everyone here because you won't be purchasing this camera.

Full specs are out.

X1D-50c - Hasselblad

Sensor dimensions
43.8 × 32.9mm

dang! same sensor size as Pentax 645Z. so it is a cropped MF. a bit disappointed.

Question: since the shutter is in the lens... does this means adapting other lenses like Pentax 67 and 645 is not possible, unless there is a adapter with shutter mechanism?

It's really interesting to change that 645(D) to a K-01. They look like brothers!

Compare camera dimensions side by side

It's less than an inch wider and mere 1.5mm taller than my K-30, and only weighs 75g more. But has a 50mp 44x33 MF sensor instead of a 16mp APS-C sensor.

If I had the money and the IQ is there (which I'm assuming it is) I'd be lining up to buy one.

Maybe the 135mm but those are more classical portrait lenses on a 6x6 camera not a cropped sensor camera. I'd say they'd be more on the telephoto side. My Zeiss CF T* 150mm on my 500C/M is probably equivalent to a little over a 85mm on a small format as much as you can compare square format

You can use the electronic shutter, as with Pentax Q, with the same drawback: rolling shutter effect.

I'm holding out hope for an adapter with a built-in shutter, similar to what Pentax did with their Q to K adapter. Maybe even with interchangeable bayonets.
