I'll pay attention to nikon when they figure out where to properly place an ISO button so that you don't have to takes the camera of of your face to use it... Thats about like putting the gear shifter in the car behind the driver's seat...
Is there no button customization option? I have no familiarity with current Nikon's (haven't used a Nikon SLR product one since the FE was new - had a couple of superzoom compact digital cameras since then but nothing SLR-like).

I just ordered a Nikon D750(after amazon price drop) along with a 85mm 1.8D. Just want to know if the lens I ordered is a good fit for my usage

I currently own a Pentax k-30 with Sigma 18-35 1.8 art. I am planning to keep both gears for a while and eventually buy a Sigma 35mm 1.4. I love Pentax just that auto tracking my restless 2 year old is getting problematic and wanted to upgrade to FF.

I bought 85mm 1.8 after hearing it is a good lens for portraits. I hope to use this for shooting my family of 2 during fall colors and rest of summer. I mostly shot at 35mm (50mm equivalent ) so not sure if the focal length and lens is right choice for me? if not what lens would be better?

Hard to say. Maybe a fast 50?

One has to be careful that the 'deal' isn't for an 'international' version. The US version is still $1996.

IIRC the NikonRumors post claimed full US Warranty and specifically denied it was for gray market body. Now we can't tell.

How is the D750 85 1.8 D combo in tracking your 2 year old so far?

I see B&H has the D750 and the 24-120mm f/4 for just under 2400 USD. That seems pretty nice of a price for the combo.

Thanks for checking. It is working great. My wife who is not into photography is able to take pics of me & my son with out any blur.

With back button focus & AF-C , single point is good enough to track movement. I leave ISO on AUTO , shutter speed to 500 or more and aperture to my liking. Given high ISO performance is great on 750. I rarely worry about that.

Having said this I love Pentax. For still photography I think Pentax is an equal. But for subject tracking not so much.

Thanks. I am planning on getting the G version for my D750 that I'm expecting this week.

No arguments here.

Cool. You will not regret it. Are you getting 85mm? Just curious

I feel 50mm is more versatile and esp. in tight spaces and if you need some dof on occasions. But 85mm is gorgeous if you just want Portraits.

It is a good glass for a kit. I would go for 1.8G primes over zooms. I didn't opt for zooms as I was getting lazy with photography ( never worried about perspective until lately) besides weight & low-light factors.
