Game Cameras

Hopefully there are others that use one of these, as they are great fun, to see what lurks around your place at night!

Here's some raccoons that have just started coming in at night. At the end of the month, I'm going to order a new game camera. Mine is 5MP, and has a very slow 5 sec. to take photos, then recycle for another 5 sec. I'm missing a lot of shots. The new one has:

Picture Trigger & Recovery Speed: 0.3 s. / 1.2 s.
Video Trigger & Recovery Speed: 0.44 s. / 1.8 s.
Detection Range: 80 ft.
18MB

one of the things I've done with mine is pair a battery powered motion detecting lamp with the camera when we do use
the light moves them on...the flash of the trail cam doesn't

I don't care that they eat the bird food
then they don't ransack the trash on Thursday morning
however when they have little ones they start eating the fish in the pond
it's taken a long time to get them to that magical six inch mark (they were just a 1/2 to 3/4 inch goldfish when we put them in)

may I ask what camera you are moving to?

I'm moving up to this camera:

Browning® Strike Force HD Pro 18MP Trail Camera : Cabela's

I had originally considered one of the new panoramas, but the reviews have not been very favorable.

That's good to know; I've purchased from them in the past (been about a year though).

I'll still use my old camera also, that way I can cover more of the area around here.

Since these have become popular they have seen a lot more wildlife than was expected, in Southern Ohio they got pics of a Golden Eagle eating a deer carcass, and enough bobcats to revise the population estimates.

I'm really enjoying see what type of wildlife is around. For instance, I didn't know that raccoons were venturing up to my place, as they usually hang out on the lake shore. So was quite surprised to see them here.
