LOL!

No doubt some will now claim they'll refuse to buy Pentax because it can't do 8k video.

That the A9 can't do 8k video either (despite it's ultra-high price point) will be deftly ignored by the doomsters.

F65 variants are 65,000 and 77,000USD + only another 20,000USD for a dockable recorder. I'll take 2.

Updated: Sony a9 samples with Raw support: Digital Photography Review

Sony is still struggling with white balance and color output. Shooting the K-1 next to my A7II, the K-1 does a much better job of delivering RAW files with excellent color and WB. Not a whole lot of adjustment needed unless I'm shooting under mixed light. Unless I'm shooting with my Einsteins, the Sony almost always needs some extra work in post.

That was a preproduction model they tested with....release firmware could change things. As well as further updates.

Don't think I've seen a camera that hasn't had some bugs @ the stage the A9 is at....

Full reviews will take a while yet.

I've sort of lost tack of this thread, so apologies if this point has been made, but unless this is just Sony showing off what they can do -and that in itself is very impressive - the real target of this camera - what would make the price worth it for the edge it could give - would be sports and wildlife - and we don't actually know how well the AF system can cope with fast telephotos, do we?

With adapters the A9 should AF Canon glass at least as fast as they focus on Canon bodies. Its not the ideal solution, but for anyone switching over from Canon it makes the A9 a very compact second body and Sony plans on building on that. Sony success started by being that compact second body that a lot of professionals started adding to their bag to supplement their primary Canon, Nikon, or Pentax body. Once they are in the bag and being used by professionals they have their foot in the door and they can build on that.

Sony still has a lot t work on and improve and the A9 is simply one (big) step in that direction. Press and documentary photographers are going to love the silent shooting and AF. Sony has to step up the build quality.

I really hope another sensor manufacturer can challenge Sony in the near future. There needs to be more competition in the market. Samsung obviously has the ability. The NX-1 sensor was really good and it could evolve into a great sensor for FF cameras.

I would love to see Ricoh produce a MILC under the Ricoh name with a new mount and the Samsung FF sensor.

I've posted about the Pentax NX a few times,whether there's a chance???
Also read that the A9 will focus faster with Canon glass than a Canon body, not sure if there's any validity in that though???

Its early days,a few lenses will be announce for FE mount pretty soon as well.
