Don't get me wrong, A9 looks like a very good camera and I'm sure it will have buyers, but these are not the reviews that I'm waiting for. I'm going to wait a couple of months and see if this camera can handle some real challenges (cold temperatures, indoor sports, challenging BIF, etc.).
There are a few reasons I can think of off hand
Silent electronic shutter
Increased Battery life
4k non cropped video
Facial registration
Universal USB Battery Powerpack while shooting
Laptop tethering
Dual Card-slots
Body will keep you warm at winter weddings.
Touch screen for quick focus changes in the same composition
Accurate and fast AF

That's pretty much the level of your commentary here.

You guys really don't get it do you? We have no problems with critical comments towards Pentax..

'We'? I wish you were more friendly and less aggressive in general.

What's interesting with this is where I could see the benefits of having even more FPS in the bird fight shoot. - capturing that ultimate moment type thing

Which makes me wonder, what will the future of still photography consist of?
Will it be setting up a camera, pressing a button to captures a 60fps stream of data, only to extract the shots in software afterward?

I'd also question whether it the post process could encompass adjustments such as; DOF and, FOV and perspective as well.
Which makes me wonder where all this is headed, and/or whether we even know what's good for us in terms of creative abilities and the likes.

I think composition is the most important aspect of any kind of photography. So while catching many frames per second to get the bird in flight shot is helpful, knowing how you want light to fall on it and where you want it in the frame in relation to the background is important. Unless(or when) it evolves to 60fps 24terrapixel 360degree cameras then we are all stuffed. It will more likely be 6 drones that swarm the bird in front, back, side, side, bottom, pattern

Winder, I know Alin Popescu from a local Facebook group and I saw his review. What you see in his images with the european bee eater is:
- perfect light conditions
- images taken with a 70-200mm lens
- some of his images are taken at f9

He has nice images, no doubt about that, but it's a big difference in:
- shooting in daylight, at f9, with a lens which at its maximum focal lenght has 200mm
and
- shooting in rough conditions with a 600mm lens, at an aperture between f4 and f6.3.

Alin is specialised in weddings and he is very good at what he is doing, but regarding wildlife, I think it's the first time for him. Tomorow I'll go to photograph the european bee eaters (if it's not raining) and let's see if I can come back with similar results or better with another beast of a camera (Canon 6D), but with a 600mm lens attached.

There is, of course the possibility of programmable or learned composition style, where the camera takes into account the features that matter to you,as the photographer. I think all this really come down to something that already exists, and that is the 'image at all costs' school against the 'truthfulness' school. The former regard no digital process that will improve the aesthetics of an image as beyond consideration, the latter want to maintain the integrity of an image - so that they can say that this is what they saw through the viewfinder - tweaked if course, as sensors don't see the way human eyes do, but not made unrecognisable. Cameras that do the composing for you, would be in a slightly different category, but they are basically 'image at all costs'in the sense that they laregly eliminate the photographer from the process, other than the grunt work of positioning the camera.

I understand. I'm just posting what is available right now. Not a lot of BIF pictures to link to right now from the A9.

If I had an extra $4,500 laying around, I'd go for it. However, Sony's prices are getting way up there. I got into the E-mount in addition to Pentax, when the A6000 only set me back $600, and an A7R could be found for twice that. This is getting into some pretty pricey territory.

For that reason also comparing the A9 with the K1 makes very little sense. For three times the price, the A9 had better be really sweet.

I wouldn't. Not because it's a bad camera, but because 1Dx Mark II and D5 are still safer bets. Not to mention that I have a lot of super tele lenses already available and not to mention that Canon (also Nikon) has great support for PRO shutters. And another reason is the grip which on 1Dx Mark II (a camera I've shot with) is superb with tele lenses mounted on it. And another reason is the EVF. I don't like it, no metter how good it is. But this is just a simple opinion of a guy who hopes to shoot with DSLR's at least another 10-15 years.

But if it wasn't for those things you'd buy one?
Come on, be honest.
