But OK now, lets see one shoot Sony and something else side by side. You assume you get more keeps with he A9, but, really you don't know. You're speculating.

Now lets just wait for someone to come on and call me a Pentax fanboy, for stating the obvious.
Actually there is no specualation
and indeed I know; That is because i shot the A9 already...

Its hitrate and its AF is far better than Canons 1DX Mark II...
that is a fact that no one, who ever shot with a Sony A9 can deny without lying.
(except you didnt find the shutter button or are not capable of understanding how cameras work)

You are still assuming i can't get what i want with another camera.

When you compare things, for one camera to be better than the other, you have to get a shot with one you didn't get with the other. The fact that 99% of the time I get the image I'm after with the camera I have leaves the A9 with a chance for 1% improvement, for $4500.

I don't care if an A9 is 100% better than nothing. I don't shoot with nothing.

sorry, i dont argue to sophistry, but i have a solution:

we should compare side by side. I will take the A9, you take the K-1 and we will take photos at an event. shoulder to shoulder.
Lets see who drops more photos at a picture agency.

You get "the image"(singular) maybe, i get "the images"(plural) for sure.

Ha, ha, I see what you did there. No let's not go to "an event" let's go on a typical wildlife trip. Let's see,
1. Who gets the best shot.
2. Which image looks better printed big
and 3. who gets done editing and get's their image "out the door first"

You're on.

I generally do 7 or-10 landscape/wildlife trips a year for a total of 30-45 days.. How many "events" do you do?

I'm not convinced based on my usage, that an A9 would get me even 3 or 4 more keepers a year. Based on your usage, how many more keepers a year would an A9 get you over what you use?

Hmmm, if you don't argue to sophistry, what about evidence, Camyum?

Please link to your portfolio or gallery, so we can see the likelihood of this ...

I don't think anyone is going to buy this lens for landscapes. unless they are using it for volatile landscapes like volcanoes and falling glacial end moraines. If I were a landscape photog I would probably get the 645z for that money or an A7rii and lenses. I can think of quite a few reasons how this could be an amazing Wildlife camera especially the silent shutter and remote wifi control

Sony a9 sensor review: Game changer? - DxOMark

Pretty decent performance. I'm surprised by the high ISO score of 3517. Second only to the A7s.

For its intended purpose it fall in between the 2 big brands

Nothing too easy as they both have been pushing one and other for years

If I was shooting at light levels that would require me to shoot at iso 800 or above most of the time I would serious think about it

The "sports" scores that DXO Mark identifies are actually all very close together for current generation full frame cameras. Just looking at scores for K-1 (3280), A9 (3517), and Canon 1DX Mk II (3207) you realize that there actually is less separating these cameras. This is a tiny difference that is unlikely to be visible in most real world shooting. If you look at the graph that Ian posted and the graph of SNR that he didn't post, you find that the graphs of the D5, 1Dx, and A9 are very, very close to each other.

As much as I would like this to be a "break through" of some kind, the only thing I see is a sensor with faster read out. Worth something I suppose, but not necessarily visible in image quality.

Mirrorless cameras run hotter just because the sensor is always on and always working. This usually results in more noise compared to a DSLR with the same sensor. Sony is producing a 20fps 24MP sensor with significantly less noise than the 24MP sensor in the A7II. I know a guys shooting concerts and music venues with an A7sII just for the high ISO.

We all know kenspo who is shooting concerts with a K-1 for the high ISO. I wonder who else knows guys shooting concerts with some camera for the high ISO. There must be a lot. Do you only know guys shooting Sony for high ISO or are they the only ones worth mentioning?

Don't take this too seriously, it's wry humour.
