I'm going to suggest you run your own tests before buying

consider renting equipment from someone like LensRental.com out of Nashville Tennessee. I have used them before but I get nothing from them by this reference.

I rented the HD Pentax-DA 1.4x AW AF Rear Converter and the HD Pentax-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6 ED DC AW from them before getting permission from the boss to buy them.

sometimes that company will offer used cameras and lenses for sale and discount their price based on the rental fees paid.

the advantage - hands on real experience

disadvantage - $$$ spent
