Help with broken Sigma 24-135mm F2.8-4.5 please.

I picked up a Canon EOS 600 with this lens (Sigma 24-135mm F2.8-4.5) at a boot sale. I thought I had bagged a bargain when he accepted an offer on it and assured me it worked perfectly on Canon digital.
After getting it home and putting a battery in, I found the lens stayed at minimum aperture and did not seem to be able to find focus. Looking inside the lens I saw the film tape seemed to be detached.
Can anyone recommend somebody in England who might repair this?

Check the sticky in the Pentax repairs forum. The last link under the UK heading would be the way to go- that guy can service just about any brand AF lens.
