On DXO-mark now. 100 points:
Nikon D850 Sensor Review: First DSLR to hit 100 points - DxOMark

Ironically the K-1 gets a better sports score:

I still wonder what a pixel shifted k-1 score would look like......

Sadly, of course, it's not the first DSLR to hit 100 on their score sheet.

They just won't admit it.

Technically the 645z didn't hit 100. It hit 101

It has the best color deph score of any camera and this is interresting, it may have the same kind of subtle tone graduation of MF bodies.

The sport score is really not great, maybe the worst of all the recent FF out there. This isn't a big deal on the score (1/3 EV), but still this actually hurt the body as being an all rounder. I wonder if this only 1/3 EV or an hint of actually quite worse high iso perf maybe in the 1EV range once post processed ?

4 points different. Less than 5 points is probably not visible in real world shooting, although it looks like this sensor has better color depth, not as good high iso shooting and equivalent low iso performance to other full frame cameras. I do wonder how much the difference in color depth makes with regard to processing. That is supposed to be what pixel shift helps and I (at least imagine) that I get better results processing those files compared to straight K-1 files, but the difference isn't huge.

DXO mark calls a colour depth of 22 excellent. I doubt there is a discernable difference to the human eye above that even when looking at gradients.

It isn't a Sony sensor apparently, so it doesn't have to have the same characteristics. It may be that by default it does as great as pixel shift does for color deph but that it struggle on high iso... ? Why not ?

In all cases it make sense for them to optimize on dynamic range and color deph as a successor of D810 instead of high iso.

The differences are really tiny. If you look at the curves, they basically all but lie on top of each other. The K-1 actually does surprisingly well at everything but base iso compared to the D810 and D850. But a difference of 600 iso points on the sports score, while it sounds big is really only a quarter of a stop difference. I've said several times in this thread, but to me the differences in these cameras mostly come down to things like frame rate, video performance, and buffer size and if those things aren't crucial to your shooting experience then you can save quite a bit of money by going with the older generation camera.

Hold the front page... The D850 was getting "maybe 1 in 3" shots "tack sharp" with a subject walking towards the camera. And people complain about Pentax AF? I accept Nikon has the edge over Pentax in this area, but seriously... The next person that says Pentax AF is awful and Nikon's is great will go straight on my ignore list (hang on... I'm a mod... I can't ignore anyone!!).

What about a "small dark room in the basement" list?
