Is this camera 2x as good as the 645z? If I did trade in my K-1, I'd be inclined to get a 645z, given the reviews, or a Nikon D850 since I almost switched systems in 2014 and got very familiar with Nikon in my testing phase. An $8500 Fuji never even crossed my mind.

Looks like most recent FF/MF bodies are on that list, across all major brands. Makes sense! Not that I'd do it.

This is the sort of reply I was expecting !
I don't have a K-1 (sure would like one though) and according to what I am seeing here in several threads with the high quality of the images rendered with the K-1, a Fuji FF would probably not interest me.
Then again, I have not tried either ...

It proves Fuji has a marketing department.

Sure, I would trade in my 645Z for an $850 credit off list price for a unproven camera with fewer features and very few lenses. Sounds like a deal. Sign me up.

I'll give you $851 for it, cash. I'll even fly there to pick it up in person.

Hmm, they do say "minimum $850" at the top, and also that it's fujifilm.ca, so this would be Canadian bucks. I'll up my offer to $400 Canadian dollars plus $500 in Canadian Tire money (just as good if not better than our official currency) and throw in a $15 Tim Hortons Card and a case of beer (your choice of brand).

I'm wondering whether some "Pentaxian" would fall for this offer though ...

Better trade in fast before the Pentax ship sinks and you are left as the only one holding a K1/645Z.
Everyone is doing it on the sly so that they can more easily off load their Pentax stuff on the BnS.

Don't get left out on such a once in a lifetime deal/lifeline from Fuji!

Well.. people offload their gear on KEH, Amazon, B&H, Adorama, and the like all the time.. they generally pay a fraction of the actual value then mark up the price wayyy beyond that. For instance, Amazon will give you 737 USD right now for a K-1. KEH is offering around 1000 USD. So this is just a company version of that.

It is hard to consider it though when they only give a vague estimate of 850 and it seems you need to contact them (thus opening yourself to sales 'harassment') to get a more precise quote.

They only way they could get me, provided I was in the market for a GFX camera and I'm not, to really consider this is if the offered as much as I could get for the camera if I had sold it privately.

I am not really surprised that Fuji initiated that offer. From what I know from what camera shops are saying , they have a hard time selling this GFX50 camera because Fuji are planning to sell it into the non-pro market segment (skipping the full frame line), and it happens that the GFX50 does not sell as expected, hence the offer to take back a full frame camera to try to stimulate the sales of the GFX.

Well, if you get $850 for a 5D or D700, that's a good price, but if you get the same for a K1 or 5DIV... that's peanuts, especially when the margin they make of the GFX camera is much larger.
I bet that there is a chance that the GFX price will drop by $850 a more after awhile, down to the level of the most expensive full frame versions.

We are getting close to having a deal here...does "a case of beer" in Canada mean 24 cans? or is it 0.79 x 24? Just checkin'.

What happens is the camera shop negotiates a trade in price and FUJI give a bonus amount....that's the way the Ozzie stuff is reading.
