I am not really surprised that Fuji initiated that offer. From what I know from what camera shops are saying , they have a hard time selling this GFX50 camera because Fuji are planning to sell it into the non-pro market segment (skipping the full frame line), and it happens that the GFX50 does not sell as expected, hence the offer to take back a full frame camera to try to stimulate the sales of the GFX.

Well, if you get $850 for a 5D or D700, that's a good price, but if you get the same for a K1 or 5DIV... that's peanuts, especially when the margin they make of the GFX camera is much larger.
I bet that there is a chance that the GFX price will drop by $850 a more after awhile, down to the level of the most expensive full frame versions.
