Samsung..the next sensor source?

Its well known that the sensors from Sonys latest cameras were developed from work done on the phone sensors.

So the rumours have abounded about Samsungs developments in this area.

Ive just read that some new tech is likely to be seen at CES next year,i wonder with Sammy out of the camera buisness(???)if this new stuff will find its way to some camera makers?

So the S9 phn is likely to have it.

I like(d) the Samsung cameras and still use the dead system(whens the funeral being announced?).

That would be interesting to see what they'd do if they did collaborated again. AFAIK Samsung still makes their own phone camera sensors still.

It does seem excessive for Samsung to discard any BSI tech in APSc size, especially with phase-AF embedded. I owned an NX300 (no BSI but nice PD+CD AF) and found it useful and with very nice IQ, though starved for accessories.

A great little camera,greater still is the NX500.

Its still a mystery about what will happen to the NX tech, they went hard with "ditch the Dslr" but even though the product was excellent,not enough buyers.

Ricoh NX would be nice,with an AF adapter for K mounts.
