The Flash in AV mode I have found out by reading the book that old lens default to 180sp so when you set your aperture the shutter speed isn't going to change so you need your auto iso to work for you by hitting the iso button then the green dot button AEL and the auto iso kicks in to complete the accurate exposure you require. chow. I have a k5 now.
But the flash is also no longer P-TTL if the lens is not in an A aperture mode. It always fires at full strength.

I had mine in A Aperture mode with the shutter defaulting to 180 and the ISO on auto and the flash wasn't firing at full strength I may have fluked it as when I tried it again it didn't want to do it, but setting the camera like that is the same as TAV mode. and the flash works properly along with my external flash.
