I'll likely stick with them since size/weight issues are important for me, never mind cost, and the image quality is fine for a hobby anyway. Yes, their lenses are very impressive. I recently got their 40-150mm telephoto (80-300mm in FF terms) which is built like a tank, weather-sealed and simply amazing even wide open at 2.8. The only reason to stop down might be for more DOF, Interestingly, Olympus do have some wild cards from their past which I guess could be used as the inspiration for ventures into new formats. Such as the Hasselblad-like OM-X

Which I've read - can't remember where, maybe on here - was designed by the great Yoshihisa Maitani but when the company said it was too experimental he produced the classic OM-1 instead.
Olympus filed patents on 3 mirrorless FF lenses a couple of years ago. They are/were obviously exploring the idea.

All joking aside, Ricoh would benefit - I think - from having some promo videos like this, and they're not expensive to produce... much cheaper than running a series of magazine printed campaigns, and a lot more people look at them...

@biz-engineer - the problem with that is, it's not a Ricoh / Pentax specific video. Still good publicity, though

Apologies to the OP... we're kind of straying off-topic

A buddy of mine has the AR7III and I he was demonstrating the eye focus capabilites it has too. This is a really good people picture feature that makes life much easier and a "snap" to use.

It's starting to sound like one of these Sonys might be something someone might want to compliment their Pentax gear. Say an A9 with a 24-70 on it for candids. It's such a different camera, I'm sure there will be more people like Winder who want both.

Although my A7II is older technology, that's exactly how I use it, Norm. It complements my Pentax gear, and vice versa. Each offers advantages over the other, and together they're a powerful combo

An A9 is still available relatively cheap on eBay if someone is interested. I was considering it but have decided to pass. Ends in 12 hours...
