Samsung gave up on their DSLRs. After 6 years (and a new system), they have up on consumer cameras. But suuuure, they're going to re-launch the NX and everything will be juuuust fine

Sorry to stray off topic, but what new adapters are you referring to? These new Canon EF to Sony E mount ones? Metabones Reveals Fifth-Generation Smart Adapters | B&H Explora

rather innovative camera...maybe NX system just had a break
Let's hope it is real and Samsung gets back in to the business. They make great sensors and they can really push technology. Sony, Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic all need the competition.

No, they have a 'speed booster', F-mount to Q-mount, with promise of K-mount and M42-mount versions to come. The theory is that a 50mm f/1.4 lens will become a 25mm f/0.7 lens.

0.666 Devil's Speed Booster for Pentax Q - PentaxForums.com

I cannot think of any reason to develop something like that for a moribund mount, but the idea of having a 25mm f/0.7 lens is very appealing to me. On my Q-7, that would act roughly like a 120mm lens.

What does that ad mean, do you think? Have they actually re-imagined the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens? I hope it's bigger news than this...

I'm quite curious now I knew about the 20-50 and at one version of the 18-55... didn't realise there were two already. The Mk III must be something special...

I looked in my Samsung bag and neither of my 18-55 are in there, must be in their boxes.I wanted to check which versions they were?...i know i have version 2 of the 50/200mm but just cant remember the kit lenses....i looked at Sammy website and cant determine anything.

Anyway, whatever they announce will be interesting...not really expecting much but WHAT IF!

Samsung Italy President shared Galaxy S9 'Camera Reimagined' Teaser

It's a teaser for the new Galaxy s9. Maybe it has a zoom lens equivalent to 18-55 on aps-c.

Before that, they gave up on their SLR: Samsung Kenox GX-1 / SR-4000 (1997-?). The GX-1 (in Korea) / SR-4000 (on export markets) had three dedicated lenses:

- 50mm f/1,4
- 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5
- 70-210mm f/4.5-5.6

Samsung GX1 by luis tappa

And they bought Rollei from Heinrich Mandermann (then owner of Schneider Kreuznach, Beroflex, Praktica and Exakta, hence the relations between Samsung and Schneider Kreuznach) in 1995 and sold it in 1999.
