I’ve just spent the best part of an hour, going through this thread, and seeing some gorgeous photographs. Scarily, I also noticed that I had posted in it myself, 2 years ago. OUCH. Did not remember. Back then, I said I was hankering after a Nikon1 J5... it was far too expensive so its taken until just a month ago, when I was able to get a refurb at a considerably reduced price. But now, I have it (and I still have my J1 and V1).

Here’s a couple from a recent outing (not going out much, staying Covid-safe) to have lunch with a friend I had not seen in ages.

This is called a "spiritual maze," the entire piece and a detail. It has Biblical and moral teachings with writing that winds and turns right angles and is sometimes upside down. It's a form of art involving calligraphy and drawing called "Fraktur," a German tradition brought into the Brandywine Valley and probably elsewhere in the USA.

I found myself boxed between 3 tourist busses when visiting Zion Nat'l Park. When these men saw I had difficulty maneuvering to get back on the road, they stopped the traffic and guided me back. I know only 8 words of Japanese and I used them all that day ! Harigato !
