The Fermi Paradox is an interesting analysis of why we haven't been visited by aliens yet...

Fermi paradox - Wikipedia

---------- Post added 11-05-20 at 10:28 AM ----------

Last year, my friend was planning a trip to Africa and I helped him purchase a camera for this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Based on his needs and budget, he ended up with the Sony RX10 III. Before he left, we met in the park to give him some instruction/practice with his new toy before his big trip. I rode to the park with a motorcycle I was reviewing so that he'd have some practice photographing a moving target.

I'd never touched the camera before, so it took some time figuring it out. It's DSLR-size superzoom with a 1" sensor. While playing around, I managed this shot, which the magazine designer chose as the opening 2-page spread:

After some practice, my friend even managed to get this action shot that ended up being published

He had a great trip and came back with some photos that he's printed and framed, so overall a success.

Maybe it's Not a Paradox ?
-1) Clever Livings that are Not Aggressive : like peaceful whales on a planet covered with oceans...
... so their planet stays in good shape for millennia... but we'll Never heard of them...
-2) Very Aggressive Clever Livings as we, Humans, are - so they Destroy their planet after a few centuries...
... just a few centuries with the Richest part consuming more than 3 Planets could provide...
Exactly what we are Experiencing these years on our own planet !

Bravo ! Excellent quality pictures that look like shot with a DSLR !

But the DSLR-size SuperZoom is sometimes too bulky...

I always thought Pentax could have launched a Pentax Q+... not that bigger than the original Q...
... but... built around one of these Super Performing 1 inch BSI sensor ...

Advocacy for a Non-crippled Pentax Q+ w/ 1" BSI sensor inside

Advocacy for a Non-crippled Pentax Q+ sporting a 1" BSI sensor

The Best Camera is this small one you carry every time, everywhere with you !

From nearly undetectable w/ a pancake lens mounted for Street or Concert Photography...
... to that very affordable huge Sky-Watcher 254/1200 for HQ Astro-Photography :

From Nov.7, I tend to not get around to ZS100 images as quickly as my K-mount images.

A that time there was still ice on the water near the shore, we've had Indian summer and it's all gone now, but should be back soon.

End of the walk.

Lumix ZS100

The perfect "fits in my coat pocket" camera in my estimation.

A huge old growth White Pine broke off 10 feet up, and the top fell, blocking the Old School Road

After you've used the Lumix cameras for awhile, you start to notice the colours they produce. A change of pace from Pentax colours.

Lake Erie down at Port Maitland a couple of weeks back. Interesting place. Trying Darktable, but it is a bit tricky for hazy, high DR scenes.
