I'm a fan of Sony cameras, but I'd respectfully challenge that statement.
A lot of people just don't like electronic viewfinders (even very good ones) and prefer a good optical viewfinder. I like both, but I can fully appreciate that they're not for everyone.
On top of that, despite improved weather & dust resistance, the port covers on the A7 MkIII remain poorly protected. We all know that no camera is weather "proof", but I'd feel happier taking my chances with a K-1 / K-1II and AW lenses, as you've indicated.
That said, the A7 MkIII is undoubtedly a very fine camera. Not without its flaws, but impressive nonetheless
