Noctilux from Leitz or Nokton from Voigtlander.

As noted in the link, “Noct” is nothing new for Nikon, as their 58mm f1.2 lens was sold as the “Noct-Nikkor” from the 1970s.

I think it just means we are getting close to seeing a new Nikon premium mirrorless line.

Any name is better than "*istD"

If the name applies to a new mirrorless ecosystem targeted at low light, I wonder if they'll have a parallel product line for more conventional photography.

They already have one.
I'm guessing they'll treat the old DSLR line as Pentax treats the "Q" - we'll continue to sell them if you'll continue purchasing them.

When I said parallel product line, I meant a 2nd mirrorless name to pair with this new Noct. Same mirrorless mount across the 2 product lines just different names. Noct could be specialized for ultra low light, with expensive and bulky lenses, while the 2nd name goes onto the non-specialized less expensive lenses. It would be a single mirrorless system.

Nikon will continue to have DSLRs but I think they (and other manufacturers) expect DSLRs to go away at some undetermined point in the future, as EVF and battery life are improved.
