No doubt about it Sony has incredibly impressive AF technology going on in both the new lenses and bodies especially after firmware updates. Another reason for me to get the Sony 135mm. I will be getting my tax refund in about a month so might put my order in around that time.
From Roger Cicala at Lens Rentals (he does a lot of extensive lens testing):
"I've only had a a couple of copies to test, so limited information.

But the limited information suggests this is really spectacular. Perhaps the best Sony lens period as far as sharpness."

These results are insanely good. At 100 lp/mm the Sony 135mm f/1.8 GM has a higher MTF than most excellent primes do at 50 lp / mm. If you don’t speak MTF, basically that means this lens can resolve fine details that would be a blur on excellent lenses. This is the sharpest lens we’ve tested. Period.

I think ‘extreme’ aspheric may be more of a marketing, than an optical, term. But what was very clear is they have (and I saw micrographs to demonstrate it) been able to polish this aspheric to a smoother degree than has been possible, reducing or eliminating any onion-skin bokeh.

@LeRolls, I can't help but comment that I just saw your 500px account and those were fantastic and inspiring images. Makes me want to think that you can produce gorgeous photos with any system.

I'm still on the original Sony a7r. With all its limitations around slow auto focus & shutter shock it still meets my needs so no plans to upgrade. This was shot in the v&a museum in London. A7r + Zeiss Loxia 21mm.

So, I’ve been enamored of some new lenses. I ran across the old Zeiss range of lenses made for their CONTAX cameras late last year and picked up a 28/2.8 to test out. I loved it. Incredible contrasty images and solid as a rock construction. I’ve picked up a few more since, including a 60/2.8 Makro-Planar. Today I took an afternoon walk through my neighborhood with my daughter and had a chance to see what the lens can do. I’m smitten.

^ Nice images. Are you still shooting the Pentax or are you finding that you're shooting more with the Sony & the Fujifilm cameras these days?

Thanks. Mostly just Fujifilm and Sony nowadays but I still have a lot of images from the K-1 to edit from the last two years.
