Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 and,

CZJ Pancolar 50mm f/1.8, to echo the comments above about adaptability.

Both on A7iii.

I had a CZJ 58mm f2.0 with the swirly bokeh (and bubbles in the glass!) and one of the old 15 blade Pentacon 135/2.8 lenses. They were both really nice and I dug the effects, but ended up letting them go as I just wasn’t using them. I do have a serious soft spot for the CZ Contax lenses, though. They’re remarkably good, and not too pricey considering how sharp they are. The 28/2.8 is one of my absolute favorite walk around lenses on my a7iii when I’m not shooting AF.

Ooh yeah the Biotar? The foundation for all Helios 44’s! I’ve heard good things about the Pentacon too.
Ah yes, I’ve recently been reading up on the Contax CZ lenses... I think some of the Rollei lenses shared designs too but could be mistaken. I think I might look into that 28/2.8, I need a solid 28mm in my line up I reckon!

I think the rollei lenses of that era were made by Zeiss. I’ve even heard that their HFT coating was just the T* coating of the time. There are lots of gems in the Contax lineup. There’s a great write up on reduser.com aimed at filmmakers, but still relevant info broken down by lens and version (aeg & mmj). I’ve got the 28/2.8, 50/1.4, 60/2.8 makro (an AMAZING lens), 135/2.8, and 35-70/3.4. Totally worth looking into.

You've just fed the GAS monster there, my friend. I'll be doing some reading up today on the matter! Thank you!

vs,

Top is a judiciously-edited RAW, bottom is a SOOC Jpeg (less some crop and slight distortion adjustment which was applied to both). Highlight and shadow protection off, DRO off, lens corrections off. B&W 'Creative Style' with Contrast +1, Sharpness +3.
Yes, the RAW gives considerably more latitude for retaining highlights and bumping shadows but, I dunno, I rather like the Jpeg...

How many different shots can you get of the same bit of headland?

All within one month, all with the Voigtlander Ultron SL-ii 40mm f/2.

Monstera Adansonii going wild, growing wildly.
A7iii + Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8. SOOC aside from a slight angle adjustment.
f/1.8, 1/25s, ISO 3200, B&W - contrast +1, sharpness +1, DRO 2. No other in-camera adjustments or lens corrections.

A shot of figs, the image is nothing special, but just testing out my new 300/4 Zeiss C/Y on the a6400. Pretty damn sharp wide open.
