28-70 F2.0 would be an awesome lens no matter which system it was designed for.

Good lord - that lens (if it actually exists) would have to have a 150-200mm front element. Expensive filters!!

How do you figure that? 70mm/F2.0 = 35mm.

Why that big front element? A 70mm F2 has smaller and a 28mm F2 also has smaller, technically that should be enough.

I don't think it works quite that way.

I have a 24-105 f4 lens at hand and it has a 77mm filter size.

It works that way for primes. Zooms are a bit more complicated, but I've never heard a good explanation that would allow you to predict the front element size. The post I responded to still seems like a vast overestimate without some more data.

As much as anything I was taking a wild stab in the dark - nothing to back up my #'s - BUT, it's helping to get us to the K1 ii.

28-70 f2.0 will be big and expensive. They also have a 24-105 f4 as an alternative.

I didn't see any ultrawide lenses rumored. Adapters might satisfy that need.

Seems competitive with Sony and Nikon, but sensor performance and user interface are still mysteries.

The larger front elements Are also design choices based on the optical design. Look at the dfa 50 vs fa 50 1.4.

UWAs might be on the roadmap like with Nikon. Between that and sensor performance this could be really nice...

or they could pull a Canon and skimp because they can..

This will take a couple years to pan out I think.. between all of the makers. But I'm interested in seeing which system is adapted the most and which system adapts other systems better/worse.

Plus I suspect some makers purposely use a specific filter size or two across their lineup just to keep consistency..

a 24-70 f/2 would be crazy. I assume it's going to have a price to match.

Faster doesn't mean better corrected - it could be fast and sloppy and small. Time will tell.
