That's perfect. The problem with full frame systems is they aren't cheap enough to upgrade every other year. How much is obsolescence rate in video? Canon talked already about their 8K upgrade for EOS R. Whereas for still photography, unless someone has a breakthrough sensor that bring a sizable advantage over current CMOS (such as global shutter), I don't the still photography evolving as fast as video. apsc and u4/3 are fine for video, good and cheaper than full frame.

I'm interested in the S1R. I will have to see how well the AF-C works and if they can compete with Sony in terms of face and eye-AF. I like the bigger bodies and the controls "look" better. I will have to try one and see if I really do like them. The 1/320 sync speed is a nice step up, but not critical. I won't be putting the A9s up for sale anytime soon, but let's see what happens in a couple of years. Hopefully Sony will produce a larger bodied FE mount camera with better build quality and ergonomics.

Yes, a couple of years is what will be need to see clarity with those new systems: native lenses available, real life shooting experiences, firmware bug fixes etc. Sony are the most advanced, too bad I don't like Sony A6/7/9 body designs and the G master lenses are good but expensive.

As I understand it, the S1 is coming in for some early criticism regarding AF performance, video and the lack of proper "flippy" screen.

You might want to watch this video... It's actually quite funny, though NSFW due to some of the language used :

I have read some interesting reviews. One said Panasonic demos showed off HOLDING the cameras weight by being only the screen with the screen flipped out.
