Only 184,000 subscribers,of which I'm not one.

His free E-book on Fuji stuff is quite good.Edition 2(after his experience with gfx100) will be available in the next few days.

An unusual character for sure.

That is truly, truly scary

I believe several of the Kardashians have more followers still.

The internet can be a dangerous place, for sure...

Not with Ken Wheeler, it's not. The guy is a total loon. An intelligent one, unfortunately, but a loon nonetheless - and not a particularly nice one, either

Total?...not so sure he can get that classification.

Theres a nice stouch going on that hes involved in right now,the end result will be kind of " interesting".

You sound like one who is partially convinced by him (which surprises me). Good luck with that

Only convinced with his experiences with his gear.

Ive commented with some corrections at times,on his YT content.Hes dismissive.

He goes the other way with any praise.

He is a bit like the silver haired clik baiter at times, not doing enough research into the(diesel in Ferrari)subject.

His opinion is just that, he is correct on many occasions, but like $onyN,can be incorrect.

Due to his position(as an influencer) he can be critised, mostly by negative thinkers(imo).

I take whats worthwhile from all the sources and disregard whats not.(beauty is in the beholder)His disciples may be "total loons"too?

It's interesting that you used the term "disciples". Some folks do, indeed, just accept his word as gospel and spread it. Alas, they're not all as smart as you and I. And he's far from the first lunatic to develop a blind following. I do, however, believe he's the first one to crop someone else's photo and pass it off as his own to demonstrate a point (allegedly... there's certainly one, at least, that's not his ). Still, probably trustworthy enough for photography gear info, right?...

His knowledge is reasonably good but not 100% accurate.

I'm not sure hes the first one but its proven that he did that, hes been called out many occasions( I do it when I know hes incorrect)

I suppose one could class him as a photographic meglomaniac, but that may be taking it too far?

Not far enough, IMHO... and it doesn't stop at photography. He's equally megalomaniacal about ancient texts, religions and cultures, physics, and even aspects of philosophy and psychology. There may be more... As I said, I haven't watched all of his videos... just enough to get a decent idea of his online persona and the "value" of his "teachings"

Hey, if you enjoy his videos and find value in some of what he says, that's great. Personally, I wouldn't take the time of day from him without triple checking it against a number of more reputable sources... but that's just me. Maybe I'm being unkind to him...

It's not about his looks. I have friends and family with more tats and piercing than him. They guy is probably a great camera tech, but he's a pretty awful photographer. Mentally I think they guy is delusional. He's made it a habit of attaching other Youtubers over the years.

You're not Robinson Crusoe on that one, Yes,Ive seen plenty more along the lines of those 2.

My guess/observation is "reasonably good" and he is reasonably informed about plenty of new stuff.

Amongst his followers there are hardcore Fuji and Nikon fanbois who thinks hes the sunshine,to me hes just another opinion.

He shoots stills only,so that grants him halfa brain.Video is limited to YT,by his own admission.

Ken has gone after Matt Granger, Tony Northcut, Jason Lanier.

If you look at the still images that he has actually posted, the guy is awful. He has also been caught stealing other photographers work.
