The problem is the rate of camera equipment is very high. The market is now mostly a replacement market rather than first time ILC buyer like it was between Y.2000 and 2010. Mirrorless isn't without issues. First, using mirrorless with an adapter doesn't bring much size reduction. Second, lens mount change disrupt the ILC model (investing in lenses long term, upgrading camera bodies), in a mature market lots of DSLR users have a decade of lenses, it's a daunting task to start over again with mirrorless especially when we have no clear idea of which mount will remain. Third, EVF aren't that good when the light isn't great the frame rate drop + lag + rolling effect when panning, that's not pleasant to see. One of our local camera shop chain here started offering Nikon Z series last year , beside DSLR. This year, they've removed the Nikon Z from their lineup, now only offering Nikon DSLR, Canon DSLR and Sony. I guess Nikon, Canon and Panasonic offered a mirrorless system influenced by Sony, rather than assessing how many of their DSLR customers would actually switch to mirrorless. That's a huge gamble because DSLR users who would switch to Sony wouldn't switch to their same brand MILC system. That's what happened to people I know use a Canon DSLR, they don't feel the need to buy an EOS R or EOS RP, they keep using their 5D.
