I have a Chinon 45mm f2.8.
I wonder if it’s about the same

I expect it will be larger, sharper, and a lot more expensive, though it probably doesn’t use a hair elastic for a focusing ring...

Whats the appeal of the 45 f2.8 exactly? Is it small? Does it have specific rendering? It seems an odd focal length, I'm sure the M 40 was viewed in a similar way but lately lenses have tended towards fast heavily corrected designs.

Sigma primes for the FE mount are DSLR optical formulas with longer back to fill the gap between DSLR optics and the new mounts. A remake of old things with different cosmetics, most of the time.

Thank you. The 45 is quite a bit smaller. I'm glad they see some value in making smaller less fast lenses. Although to be fair a 24-70 f4 with great optics would be more interesting.

Those three were specifically designed for short-flanged mounts and will be available in Leica L and Sony E mounts.
