I received the K to L adapter today. Was messing around the FA 43 and the FA 85 on the FP. The focus peaking is useful but a little hard to see at times. Got impatient waiting for Lumix 85 and the Sigma 65mm. Broke down and ordered the new Sigma 85 f1.4 for L mount. Should have it Friday or Saturday. I may or may not keep my preorder for the 65mm f2. Depends on how many paid shoots I get next week.
Nice, I believe Pentax lenses should be OK on Sigma fp. I watched videos Sigma 85 vs Lumix 85, maybe Sigma 85/1.4 is better for professional jobs, and its colours look nicer.

I'm pretty sure I would have been happy with the Lumix but I got a decent deal on the Sigma and it is technically better in most areas except weight/size/price. Also figured that maybe Sigma lenses play a little nicer with their camera bodies. I received the Sigma today and I have to say that the build quality is quite nice. Even though it is quite small compared to the previous Sigma 85 it is still noticeably bigger than the Pentax 85 which is unfortunate but manageable. I am excited to bring it with me on a shoot Sunday.

Did a full portrait session with my buddy using the FP and the Sigma 85mm 1.4. I really like the color science and dynamic range of this camera. We grabbed a burger afterwards and there were some cool bulbs above our table so I grabbed a quick shot. This SOOC using the Teal and Orange preset in the camera.

Gosh, that is a bit larger than I would have expected. It's not obvious from static images but looking at Youtube reviews I cans see that it's going to be a relative beast on your pretty darn compact FP.

BTW. I looked at the FP in more detail after you mentioned it. Some really positive comments from those buying it but I think for for me it would be far too small, particularly since I've taken a liking to a couple of the recently released larger and heavier lenses. I'm guessing that's why the most highly rated MILC's this year are trending larger than years past? I imagine those small and light bodies that were the "thing" would require adaption to a different shooting stance and style to use 'em with 15+ glass elements hanging in front of them. (Edit: I see that lens has 14 elements, still heavy tho)

I guess the days of the great glass in a compact package, Ie Pentax Limited form, is gone.

In all honesty tho I don't think it matters to the finished image what camera you use. Everything I see from you on every camera body you put to use has been impressively lighted and captured. Consistently great stuff. Proof that talent trumps gear every time.

Maybe not anything is so bad. Panasonic has released 85/f1.8 which weighs 355g and Sigma has 45/f2.8 with a weight of 215g.

Thanks. So at least Panasonic is bucking the recent trend towards large and heavy lenses.

Was thinking of ordering the Lumix 85 but didn't want to wait. I do have the Sigma 65 f2 on it's way to me which is smaller more compact all metal lens. I think it will pair quite nicely with the FP.

Yes, Sigma has released a line of light and affordable prime lenses for MILC: 24/f3.5, 35/f2 and 65/f2.

I received the 65 f2 today. If I can find someone to shoot with tomorrow I'll take it for a test drive. I've been loving the 85 1.4 though.

I've also been quite happy with the AF on the FP. It's not quite as accurate or snappy as the X-T3 but my hit rate has been solid and LR definitely likes the FPs DNG files a lot more than the RAWs from the Fujifilm bodies.

Looks really nice! And there is clear difference even in this size with your Fuji shots, they are not bad, but this is different.

If you don't mind me asking a question. You do have that Sony FF too? How do you find the difference at there?

Hmmm, very nice!
AF of Sigma fp works pretty well, especially at good light (at least it is better than my K-5 ). I believe in Sigma 85/1.4, it will beat 65/2 without a doubt. Good luck anyway!
