Nikon D850 refurb $2400 including battery grip

Looks like a pretty good deal at the online Nikon USA store, in case anyone has been thinking of defecting

It's interesting to see Nikon slashing prices like this. They must really be trying to cash in!

Speaking of deals:
Nikon D3500 24MP DSLR Camera with AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens and AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens

You could get 6 DSLRs and 8 lenses for the same price Quite insane if you ask me.

I'll stick with my K-1 where I can use all of my classic lenses.

The advantage of the D850 is that it gives instant access to a lot of affordable modern primes that aren't available for the k mount.

The Nikon "refurbished" cameras and lens were a serious option when i was looking for a DSLR. There were some competitive prices on camera bodies and bodies with lenses. There was strong argument that a unit that had been factory refurbished was less likely to have a problem than a new unit. I procrastinated as is my habit and some "specials" ended. So, I bought the K-70 which was by far the best deal to my inexperienced eye within the price range. Absolutely no regrets.

Having used the 3xxx series in the past, I'm disinclined to bite on any offer for one - if I were jumping ship it would be to either the Nikon full frame or 7xxx series.

This looks like a good way to join the dark side:

Sony Alpha a7 II Mirrorless Digital Camera with FE ILCE7M2K/B

Sony A7II with 28-70mm kit lens for $998. For some full frame goodness at a good price, that's hard to beat. If you can do without the lens, knock $100 off the price.

Sony a7II Alpha Mirrorless Digital Camera (Alpha a7II Body) ILCE7M2/B

This mirrorless thing is really very good for bargain hunters. Used canikon dslr stuff is plentiful and priced in a way that's not good for Pentax.

The D850 certainly has a lot of appeal and I thought about making the switch a few years ago. But the K1, which I did buy has been great (touch wood) . The thought of changing systems...the expense...etc...eventually swayed me and I've stuck with Pentax.

But in the end, I'm a Pentax fan...their equipment for me, has been wonderful, I know the system well, the images are great. I think even if I won a substantial lottery, I would still have Pentax as my main system. Yeah, I'd probably buy a lot of other camera stuff... Leica Q2, Nikon equipment, maybe a 645Z...

We all dream, don't we.

Good point. BH has an insane deal on the Canon 5D IV, 2K USD which is 1100 dollars off. I've never seen that level of discount on this camera before. At one point I considered this camera and if I still were I would probably get it. These DSLRs are still exceptionally capable cameras, and will be a great deal for people getting into photography.
