I don't know about the Sony camera but for me the F or the Fa 50 macro if AF (sharpness and macro). If only manual the M 50 1.7 (cheap and light) or the A 1:1.2 (fast and bokeh)

Sony FE 55/1.8

Reasonable size, metal build, quick focus, and tack sharp, IMHO.......at least on my a7III and a7rII.

My favorite 50 is the Zeiss Pancolar 50/1.8. The 8-bladed iris zebra stripe one. Yum. Also fond of the Helios 58mm, and the 8-element Takumar 50/1.4. All my favorite 50's are M42 mount.

It's been the Rikenon P 50mm f/1.4 for a couple of years now... just a fantastic lens.

But recently a K 50 1.2 fell on my lap (almost literally) and it's taken the reign...

But I have to say that out of my Pentax lenses (I have 50 1.4, 50 1.7s and had 50 f2) the ones that come closer in rendering to the 50 1.2 are the 1.7 lenses. You can't go wrong with those, really.

Pentax-A 1.2/50mm.
I had the Sony 1.8/55mm FE and sold it because the Pentax-A 1.2/50mm was hogging the Sony A7ii big time. Lately I've been running around with the Super-Takumar 50mm F1.4 (8-element variant) but it's my third favorite. The Pentax-A 2.8/50mm is number two.

The Sony/Zeiss 55/1.8 is my go to at this focal length.

A close second in that range is an adapted Zeiss Makro Planar 60/2.8 adapted from C/Y to FE.

Its ancient glass but the Nikkor 50mm f1.4 hotly followed by the Rokkor 58mm f1.4 PF and the Rokkor 50mm f1.4 PG, I would put the Zuiko 50mm f1.2 in there as well but I never owned that lens atbthe same yime as the others and memory being what it is I am not certain it was as good.

My all time favourite was probably the 50/1.4 Canon FD, but there are practical difficulties using them on modern cameras. Of the lenses I own probably the 50mm 1.4 Nikkor (on my Nikon obviously). The other one I like is the Helios-44-2 - built like a tank and they're often badly battered, but I've rarely seen one that didn't produce good results.
