This will first appear in smartphones, but Sony has a FF quad-Bayer array sensor. Significant improvements in HDF and AF coverage with no PDAF artifacts.

If they are going to scale it up to apsc or ff, it will appear in a Sony camera first. Most likely by at least 6 months.
