Certainly in some circumstances the warning light will appear,it indicates its getting to a certain heat level.
I cant see a major problem for what I use video for, short clips of wave riding.4K 120 will be great for tuberiding and aerials.8K screen grabs 35mp wont be shabby.
At the moment Canon doesnt have a 8K cine camera but RED has,its only 80grand U$.So any pro video team can get 20 R5s...no overheating problems and its a brilliant stills device too.

Yes, But for that 4K or even 6K(which lso is quite plenty) you can have a real videoapparatus for cheaper(Canon C100 line is not really one of those'affordable ones' it is still cheaper than that RED, LOL).
For short clips it should be fine, if one is after 8K now. I suppose -and this is just a hunch- that when others are alos joining 8K party, they will also need a bitstream and all for that, it'll be more and more of it. Hope to see panasonic doing 6/8K with actual fan inside the camera. Heating up will always degrade video quality. Not that it would matter for small clips, but yea. I suppose, if companys can survive 2021-2022 there will be some beasts on the market. 8K has been knocking on the door, as you said yor self that Fuji 100 might have already 8K down scaled to 4K and could be changed to 8K just like that.
I'm still happy with my 4K
Thinking of getting perhaps 6K in future. That is plenty already.
