Found a MINT Nikon FM2n.....Wow !

I was out Yard saleing last week and found a Nikon FM2n with a mint case and 50mm E 1.8 lens.
The lady said she never used it except for one roll of film when she bought it , and instead used her husbands Canon camera.
Hmmmm….."Sweet" looking ! Mint condition......All the paperwork and literature....Hmmmm…..thinking....thinking.
I popped in a couple Batteries that I always carry and the meter is perfect !
I went home and looked it up on Ebay completed sales....Yikes ! they go for $200-350 for the all black one consistently.
Then I looked it up on Camerapedia/Wiki and fell in Love.
I went back and offered her $100 and she accepted !
Ive ran through 3 rolls of film and can say for certain that this IS my favorite film Camera of all time...….ever.
Never quite understood how I missed this for all these decades ?
I feel like I "stold" it but oh well.....she could have always said NO !
Really "stoked" over this and have been carrying it everywhere taking pics......lots of pics......lol

Ok....I know I have to post pics or it never happened ….Right ?…...give me a minute.
Sorry for the crappy pics as I was using my EM10ii that I have all screwed up for settings and pulling my hair out before doing a re-set for the 5th time.....Blasted Olympus !.

I am super jealous, but happy for you none-the-less.

Did you remember to check the mirror foam and light seals? Chances are they are toast despite the light use.

Test 'em with a toothpick. If they are stick or crumbly or anything but springy, it is time to replace.

Very nice classic camera. Congrats - good to hear this kind of thing still happens. I have an FE2 but I’d rather have your fully mechanical camera.

I did just discover while changing my 4th roll of film tonight that the rear door seals are a bit sticky and starting to go !
Kinda frustrating but no biggie.....I hope anyway.
I checked so carefully when looking at it the first time , but figure that now Im using it should come as no surprise ?

I usually only bring my film cameras out once or twice a year for some short play time over the course of about a month.
Usually take them to McDonalds and entertain the Old Ladies and Gents that live in my retirement area and post a few group shots and such on the wall in the lobby......quite entertaining for me and they seem to get a Kick out of it too !
Plus.....Im ALWAYS scoring some really nice Pentax cameras in the process that are usually in excellent condition and of course a whole slew of lenses for next to nothing.

Last week I bought an old couple lunch and ended up getting a nice Pentax K1000 and 3 lenses in the process. Guy bought it brand new and never really used it.

Another lady gave me all her deceased husbands Canon gear including 4 AE-1's and a few nice lenses....she had no children and was happy just to see someone actually excited about old cameras. I later tried to give her $100 but she wouldn't take a dime. I do buy her breakfast and coffee now on a regular basis.....lol

They know me as "the Camera Guy"......lol

Remarkable camera! I’m not aware of another fully mechanical body that goes to 1/4000” sans-batteries...

Photography in Malaysia has an excellent writeup -> Nikon FM Series. Be careful as this site set me on the road to acquiring some cameras I would not have known otherwise.

Nikon has an excellent history of their cameras and of course the FM2 -> Nikon FM2

BTW, Nikon FE/FE2/FM/FM2/FM2n Foam Seal Kits are available on the auction site.

A really nice lens as well. Great form factor and fine optics.
At least, I've seen some great results with that lens.
That lens could be around 100 EUR by itself.
