Viltrox are doing a great job for fast primes on X mount. As good as the Fuji glass is,some of the prices are steep.

Pentax cameras deserve Pentax glass, Fuji cameras deserve Fuji glass.

I think Fuji thought they were better than Pentax. I suspect they're actually making a loss on digital cameras, it's only Instax - a fad - that's keeping their head above the water.

Truth is, the company is better off people buying native X mount lenses rather than third party, even if the consumers aren't.

I read in the comments that "Maybe Tamron makes most of Fuji lenses as an OEM and their partnership does not allow them to make non fuji branded lenses?"..... all too funny!.... plenty of stupid out there so it seems.

I could see the X mount system being a break-even for Fuji; make money on the glass, lose it on the rapid body development and deployment.

The system has pretty good glass, from what I see of reviews, and shots shared here from folks using their cameras. Being able to use M-mount glass with simple adapters helps although I wonder how many owners actually do that.

These people seems to have sameslogan for every brand. Perhaps Canon and Nikon made new mount just to get rid of that, but even that won’t keep these guys away for long. They are like those little black fruit fyysinen at your home. Quite harmless, you notice them once cleaning has just a little been neglected

It probably isn't a big deal to Fuji folks, is it? It is probably pretty easy for them to port over F mount or EOS mount lenses to their cameras if they would want to.

I do think that Fuji users probably buy Fuji cameras for the lenses and are less likely to buy third party lenses. I do wonder too, if their world wide sales are not so robust. I am sure they do well in Asia, but I have never seen a Fuji camera in use in the United States. And I have actually seen Olympus and Pentax cameras on a couple of outings with my family.

A few years ago in the UK, the local Fuji dealer seemed to have a never-ending offer on the XPro-1. Buy the camera body, get a free 35mm lens in the box and a voucher to post off for another free lens (you got to pick from various options).

Very tempting offer but I didn't like the camera - felt odd in a way I couldn't pin down.

I've seen Fuji more than Pentax lately in the USA, but that's just anecdotal, I have no idea if this is representative or an anomaly.

Same; more Fuji's in the wild than Pentax in the USA. I don't see a lot of any cameras that aren't phones though unless it's part of a video rig with a mic mounted to the hot shoe.

Slightly more Fujis than Pentaxes in this corner of Germany too, but very few of both.
